With New Voices-The Small Catechism in the 21st Century

A Reformation 500 Emphasis

At the August, 2016 Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton extended an invitation to all congregations of the ELCA to read, study, and discuss Luther’s Small Catechism during this year of commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, with the suggestion that it might occur during Lent.

Martin Luther’s simple explanations of the 10 Commandments, the Apostle’s Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the sacraments of Baptism and Communion are a treasure handed down from generation to generation of Lutherans and others.

Here at Grace we will have the opportunity to reengage with the Small Catechism beginning Sunday, March 5th at 9:00 AM in the auditorium.  Look for further details of this six-week study in the next issue of Grace News.
