Lutheran Disaster Response Trip
A few weeks ago Pastor Verkouw and Vicki Mumma went on a Lutheran Disaster Response trip with 28 other folks from our area to the area around Venice FL. They were repairing homes that had been damaged during Hurricane Ian in 2022.
“Our work days included many minor items on the long list of things that can go wrong when a hurricane hits and your house is in the way. We did flooring, we did drywall, we caulked and painted and cleaned stuff up, and sometimes we just did some things these low-income homeowners asked us to fix even if the hurricane didn’t damage it. At our last job, we were rebuilding a wall that was not damaged by the hurricane, but by the elderly homeowner accidentally driving her own car through it right after the hurricane! Grace supported this effort with a financial gift, so thanks for helping us to help others in this way. At least one of these trips happens each year – are you interested? Talk to me or Vicki and we can fill you in!” -PV

While there PV visited with Grace Associate Members Don and Jan Lutz. Jan has been a member of Grace since she was 12, and Don since he married Jan almost 70 years ago. They send their love and greetings to all who remember them.
Our Grace Family
Thank You
The end of the chemo/radiation treatments for my pancreatic cancer is approaching. Your kindness, support, and especially your prayers have touched me in ways I can’t even begin to express. My Grace family has been a constant source of comfort. Thank you for the cards, texts, emails, visits, and flowers. I couldn’t have done it without your encouragement along the way. Thank you again.
