Grace Church Is Now “HYBRID” – 8:00 a.m. service is in-person
While the COVID-19 numbers we were watching never fully decreased to the safest levels we were hoping for, in the meantime, the number of vaccinated persons is rising, lowering the danger for those who have been vaccinated. Our team has therefore agreed to begin offering modified, in-person worship again, beginning the Sunday after Easter. The service is modified – a very brief sermon summary, no singing and simplified communion allows us to be done in close to a half-hour. The complexities of producing a decent live-stream make it difficult, for now, to have a second in-person service in that “sweet spot” between 10 and noon. But on the first Sunday of each month, I will stay after the live-stream is produced and offer the sacrament and prayer to anyone who would like to come to church between 11:30 and 12:30.

These changes present us with both challenges and opportunities. It is frustrating and sad not to meet together around word and sacrament in our beautiful and familiar place. We miss seeing each other and we miss all the ways in which being together enhances our ability to worship God and proclaim the faith that we share. At the same time we have an opportunity to strengthen the connections that bind us together, finding new ways to express what it means to be Grace Lutheran Church and part of the Body of Christ in the world.
