Thanks to All Who Made Rally Day a Success!

Teachers were introduced, children’s joy and polka music filled the air, adults learned more about how Grace communicates, our coming Adult Sunday morning series was further explained and people signed up to take care of Grace garden plots!  Here are some important takeaways:

· We are updating our church directory.  Some information is not current including the photos. If your information has changed or you want to send in an updated photo please send it to Angie You will need to have an email address in Icon inorder to access the information online.

· Patti Hartman created a map of our Grace gardens broken into designated plots.People signed up to take care of those plots over the growing season. Since our gardens are now native species (with lots of weeds) you might need direction from Patti on what is what. Contact Patti. A big thank you to all who volunteered and yes, we still have some unclaimed plots.

· We now have names for our Nolt classrooms (thanks to Theresa and Kaylah Miller) – so
beginning this Sunday, in the “Nativity” room, there will be a toddler/baby/parent class led by Esther and Athena.

In-Person Book Group–9/23 at 1:30 pm in the Nolt Auditorium

The book selection for the in-church Grace book group for September 23, 1:30, is Kristin Hannah’s The Women. This historical fiction is a riveting story involving a young woman who went to serve as an Army nurse in Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. While in Vietnam, she experienced the terrors of war and the aftermath of war afflictions of our troops and the Vietnamese local people.

As many of our troops returned to an American reception  of  anger, antipathy  and discord, so too did the story’s main character return to that anger and discord, as well as denial that American women were even in Vietnam during the war. Feel free to join our little group for a rousing discussion and fellowship! If you have any questions please contact Arlene Volk or Joyce Loiseau.

We will have two tables set up for this event! If you wish to help please leave
candy/treats and little trinkets (bubbles, pencils etc) in the church office or in the collection area in the Nolt Auditorium. If you have any questions please contact Kathryn Verkouw. Office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-4.
