Together in Community
Random Acts of Kindness Challenge
We encourage all parishioners, both young and old, to practice finding ways for “random acts of Kindness” in our community and beyond during Lent. We would love it if you would write down what you have done and add it to our “Kindness wall” in the Narthex and in Nolt Auditorium. Our community needs this more than ever!
Take a Lenten Rock!
At Grace we have a tradition at the beginning of Lent you are encouraged to take a little rock that has a cross on it. During Lent you can keep it with you to remind you of your promises and Jesus’ love, or let it keep your place in your devotional materials, or maybe hold it while you pray. At the end of Lent you may add it to your personal collection, add it to Grace’s outdoor fountain or put it into your garden.
Silver and Gold Discovery Class: Sunday mornings beginning on March 9th, 9-10:15 am in Nolt Auditorium
One of the blessings of this past year at Grace is the wonderful group of new folks who have come to Grace and begun to take part in our ministries. Pastor Steve will present a new and up dated version of his “Discovery Class” – Surprises and Insights from Scripture, Tradition, and Lutheranism and our Ministry at Grace. We will deepen our knowledge of the Bible, the long tradition of Christian faith, our “home-turf’ Lutheran Confessions, and understand how all these undergird our ministry priorities at Grace Church and in the neighborhood. We encourage all adults to participate.
Pray for One Another
On March March 2nd we will be writing our names on slips of paper before both services begin and at the end of each service picking a name of a person to pray for during lent. If you can’t make it to church this weekend and still want to participate email Angie and she will get you a person.
Seeking Wisdom: It Might Just Change Your Life
As a pastor I have to read a lot just to keep up. A lot of what I read is
vanilla, meh, or ho-hum, bet every now and then I come across an article that blows my mind— or at least gives me something really interesting to think about and makes me see things
differently. I thought this Lent it might be really fun to share some of these articles with you and have some time to discuss them and so to learn from some wise people and from each other. I will share the article in my weekly email and we will discuss it the following week (starting the first Sunday in Lent).
Discussion times will be Thursdays at 11 am in the Nolt Auditorium and 7 P.M. Wednesdays on Zoom. If you plan on attending the Zoom sessions please let me know.
