In-person Book Group

Meeting in Nolt Auditorium on Monday, March 24th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM  Please join us to discuss The Last Days of Night by Graham Moore.  The discussion will be  led by Lorraine Long.

It is New York in 1888.  A young lawyer named Paul Cravath, just out of Columbia Law School, takes a case that seems impossible to win. His client, George Westinghouse, is being sued  by Thomas Edison over a billion-dollar question: who invented the light bulb and holds the  rights to power the country. This book is based on factual events about the nature of genius,  the cost of ambition, and the battle to electrify America.

Outreach

Grocery Cards

Grocery cards are available at both services on Sunday mornings. You may order cards by calling Duane and Kitty Weiss. Remember all purchases of cards realizes 5% in cash back to Grace. These funds are used to support our many ministries.

PRC Housewares Pantry

In 2021 and 2022, PRC helped to furnish new apartments for a number of households at the request of local social workers who routinely saw people moving out of homelessness, or into new living situations, where they did not have the basic furnishings they needed or the resources to purchase them. The more we worked with people transitioning out of homelessness, the more we realized that this is a larger, ongoing need that requires an efficient, ongoing solution.
PRC has started a pilot program Housewares Pantry. Referrals for the Housewares Pantry come from social workers and healthcare providers. A live photo inventory is online so that social workers can work with clients to choose exactly which items will work best for them.
Angie and Kath would like you to (if possible) to drop the items off at the PRC instead of at the church office. If you have any questions please contact Angie, Kath, or the PRC.

LENT 2025

Prayer and Kindness Initiative Reminder
Lent has begun!  Last Sunday you may have submitted your name into a basket and at the end of worship taken a name out.  Your goal is to include that person in your prayers every day.  Who is that person? If you aren’t sure we can help by sending you a visual of that
person.  Did you miss out but would like to participate?  If you have any questions call Angie at the office or talk to Kath.
Also a reminder to be especially kind during this season of Lent.  We would love to hear some of the ways you have added kindness to your schedule.  Post a sticky note on one of the two “kindness boards”. What are the goals of these two initiatives?  The hope that it encourages prayer and kindness to weave more fully into the fabric of your daily lives.

You can view all of our Lent 2025 opportunities here

If you have any questions please contact Pastor Verkouw, Kath, or Angie.
