August 2025 Schedule

Upcoming Events at Kirchenwald & the Wittel Farm

9/7—Dinner Church at Wittel Farm 5-7 pm:  Rooted in the tradition of the early Christian
movement, Dinner Church invites us to gather at a common table to remember Jesus through radical hospitality and community. All are welcome—come as you are and bring a dish to share. Experience worship in its most nourishing form—where food and faith meet. We hope to see you this summer!

9/27—Party With A Purpose at Kirchenwald 4-9pm: Our annual Oktoberfest-style fundraiser at the Lutheran Camping Corporation in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This lively evening brings together friends, family, and supporters for great food, music, and community — all while helping sustain and grow our camping ministry.
Enjoy a mouthwatering pork BBQ dinner, delicious homemade desserts, and the warm atmosphere of an Oktoberfest celebration. Tap your feet to live music, connect with fellow supporters, and take part in an exciting silent and live auction. Your participation directly supports the mission and programs of the Kirchenwald (Lutheran Camping Corporation of Central Pennsylvania).
Southern Style BBQ with all the Fixin’s and Premium Spirits
Your Price to Attend? Give us what you would pay for a dinner out at a nice restaurant, including tip
…at a really nice restaurant…not fast food!

The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Persuasion by Jane Austen
Middlemarch by George Eliot

A Room With A View by E.M. Forster
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Join us on Zoom at 7 pm  on September 9th to discuss books translated into the English language.
Join us on Zoom at 7 pm on October 14th to discuss non-fiction books.
Join us on Zoom at 7 pm on November 11th to discuss books that have won either the Booker Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, or the National Book Award.
If you have any questions, would like to join the group, or need helping finding a book please contact Brenda Hayasaka at bkhayasaka@gmail.com
