Stewardship Snippets

May 19, 2019 (Fifth Sunday of Easter, Year C)
John 13:34-35 – I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. Cultivating safe space where love is the language and there’s room at the table for everyone  should be a guiding principle for stewards of community. After all, Jesus commands it. What would it take for our congregation to become known as “the love church” in your community?

Food Hub Update

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this ministry.  132 pounds of food was delivered to the Lancaster Food Hub from our grocery cart in the Narthex. More information about the Food Hub can be found here.

Puerto Rico Fundraiser

Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit Lancaster Housing and Neighborhood Development Services. Our primary work is providing low/mod income housing in the city of Lancaster, but we have so many friends and neighbors connected to Puerto Rico that we are collaborating with Lutheran Disaster Response to sponsor a group of 32 volunteers headed to Puerto Rico this coming October to spend a week rebuilding and restoring homes damaged by Hurricane Maria in 2017.  Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me and so many of our neighbors and folks we serve in Lancaster.
More information about Lancaster Housing and Neighborhood Development Services: LHANDS is a neighborhood ministry of Grace Lutheran Church, working to provide quality, affordable housing to low/mod income families by offering supportive services and rental assistance programs in the City of Lancaster, PA.
