June 7, 2020 (Trinity Sunday)
Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Jesus completes his ministry with a lesson in community organizing. Disciples are sent to make more disciples. This work happens best in community where Christ is truly present, a community called church.
The Festival of Pentecost
And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
When the day of Pentecost had come, [the apostles] were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them.
