Face Masks For Worship

Due to the rising case numbers of COVID-19 in Lancaster County, it is necessary for us to wear our masks again at worship, whether or not we have been vaccinated, to prevent possible spread, especially to those who have not received the vaccine. If you have not, I urge you to consider doing so. Contracting the virus is MUCH more dangerous than getting the vaccine. It is part of our responsibility to care not only for ourselves, but for the public health. It also makes it much safer to continue meaningful worship, with singing and sacrament.

God’s Work Our Hands Sunday

“God’s work. Our hands” – Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021 Please Join Us For Our Seventh Annual Neighborhood Cookout in our parking lot, beginning at 12 noon.
Flexible and adaptable are two words that we have learned to understand even more deeply in the last year and a half. Keeping health and safety at the forefront, for this year’s God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday, we are planning to invite Grace’s neighbors to a very special pickup meal, with the main course prepared by the Bertrands’ Smokestack BBQ.
Please keep watch in Grace News, in the bulletin, and on our website in the next few weeks for more details and to learn how you can support this event. – Carol Main, For the Neighborhood Cookout Team

Contemplating Logos

“Listen, O my son, to the precepts of thy master, and incline the ear of thy heart, and cheerfully receive and faithfully execute the admonitions of thy loving Father, that by the toil of obedience thou mayest return to Him from whom by the sloth of disobedience thou hast gone away.”
(Prologue to The Rule of St. Benedict, Trans. Rev. Boniface Verheyen OSB, 1949)

Aug. 22, 2021 (13th Sunday after Pentecost, Year B)
John 6:68 – Simon Peter answered Jesus, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life.” We hear so many voices in our culture luring us to follow by promising us prosperity, power, fun, escape, prestige, etc. But steward disciples know that only Jesus has the words of true life, eternal life. We listen only for Jesus’ words.
Grace Going Green

We are still collecting caps for the Earth Savers Club at Central York High School.
If you would like to help—drop off your clean/label free caps to the church office! Thanks!
Weekly Green Tip

We’re all working hard to be conscious consumers. At the grocery store, we read labels and say “no” to plastic packaging whenever we can. We choose safe wooden toys for our kids, avoid poisonous cleaning products, and even grow our own organic vegetables. But wait! After all that effort, are we unknowingly spraying that lovely healthful produce with phthalates, BPA, lead and more? Read more here
Our Grace Family

Dear Members of Grace,
We give thanks for the life and witness of Joan Marrow and Sherri Russell who now rest in the Lord. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to their families and friends. Please keep Joan and Sherrie’s families in your prayers.

To all my brothers and sisters at Grace,
Thank you for remembering my niece Sarah Sedlak in prayer as she battled pancreatic cancer. Her passing has left us heartbroken and sympathetic to all who suffer serious illness.
