Holiday Sunday School Family Reminders From Mrs. Verkouw

1.  The theme for this year’s Christmas play is: The Jesse Tree Christmas play rehearsals have begun, and yes, confirmation is included! A plea from Mrs. Verkouw so she doesn’t get more gray and an ulcer… please come to Sunday school so we can all work together and succeed together!

2.  Sign up for the Advent Fair being held on December 5th after worship!  Fun for all ages! (Text/Email Mrs. Verkouw if you want her to sign you up for either )
During November and December let’s recommit to spending time with our faith community.  Jesus is coming soon!

Hope For the Holidays

“This year, thousands of children and adults will be spending the holidays behind bars — because they crossed the United States border seeking protection. Even more families are in the process of being reunited and are adapting to life here in the U.S. Children who are still waiting to be with their families are being cared for by LIRS and our incredible partners and foster parents. All of them could use some love and encouragement this holiday season.”- LIRS

This is the sixth year for Hope For the Holidays and this year Grace is joining the welcome party! Join our Sunday School kids in sending messages of love, welcome, and holiday cheer to families in migrant detention centers across the United States and shelters along the border. For the week, our Sunday School kids will be creating cards and writing messages to our new neighbors! Cards should be returned to the church office by Wednesday, Nov.17th. If you have any questions please contact Angie Rabbe at graceelcaapd@gmail.com.

Winter Outerwear For Community Meal

As many of you know Grace has partnered with the community meal and the Parish Resource Center in the past to collect winter outerwear and socks for our neighbors. We are doing that again this year. We are collecting hats, gloves, scarves, and socks.

Items can be dropped off between now and Sunday, November 21. Please drop your items off at our new donation dropoff center located near the elevator in the Nolt Auditorium. If you are knitting or crocheting your items please make sure that they are warm. If you need patterns or yarn please reach out to me (graceelcaapd@gmail.com). Thank you to everyone who has dropped items off.  Peace, Angie Rabbe
