Staff Updates for the New Year

Dear members and friends of Grace,

As most of you know by now, I am retiring at the end of this year. This will be my last Grace News.

It has been a blessing and a privilege to serve this congregation for the last ten years and I will miss being in the office with my friends and colleagues. Thank you for all your love and support, it has meant the world to me.

I will continue to take an active role in the life and ministry of Grace, teaching confirmation, assisting in worship, and finding new ways to serve the church and our community.
Thank you for being an important part of my faith journey.

In His service, Vicki

Please welcome Angie Rabbe, our Assistant Program Director as she transitions to her new role.

She will continue her programming duties as well as being in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays to offer support to the staff and members of Grace. She can be reached by phone at 717-397-2748 or by email at

A message from our Financial Secretary

Do you need to catch up on your pledge?  Want to make an end of year donation? The Financial Secretary is asking that all end of year donations be in the office by Saturday Dec. 31 in order to be credited for 2022.

Donations received after Saturday Dec. 31 will be credited in 2023.
Thank you, Rosalyn Ward & Jean Young

Lutheran World Relief Shipping Fund

Last month $1,165 was sent to Lutheran World Relief to ship our School Kits and Personal Care Kits overseas. Thank you to everyone who donated.

There is a quilt plaza at the headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, which has bricks engraved with donors’ names ($500 donation each). We have many bricks from Grace with Grace Lutheran, Lancaster, PA engraved on them, as well as bricks with names of individuals who made quilts and kits over the years, many of whom are no longer with us. If you are ever in Baltimore, visit the plaza at Christ Lutheran Church, near the Inner Harbor.

We’ve had another successful ELCA Good Gifts campaign!

Thanks to the children in our Sunday School Program for spearheading this effort. We will publish our final tally in the new year. If you have contributed—thank you! If not you are welcome to  – please indicate on your check Good Gift Chicks!

Cup of Sharing!

Thanks to everyone who contribute to Grace’s World Cup of Sharing, we have surpassed our $10,000 goal in support of the ministry of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and to help with important maintenance needs in our
L-HANDS properties.

All gifts will be split equally between these two causes and thus, be used both locally and globally in support of our neighbors. If you have not yet had the chance to contribute, you still have time to do so. If you wish to make a gift via check, please put “World Cup of Sharing” on the memo line. Please put a similar note on your envelope with any cash gifts.

You may also give online by clicking on the GIVE button on the church’s website and following the prompts to “World Cup of Sharing.”

Again, thank you for your generosity!

Thanks also to our staff – Pastor and Kathryn Verkouw, Dr. David McConnell, Denny Maharg, Vicki Mumma, and Angie Rabbe.
