Update on Sunday ZOOM Fun for kids

Did you know that Daniel prayed to God 3 times a day? And praying is what got Daniel thrown into the lion’s den? Wow! Good thing we can pray without fear. Carolynn Main led our class this past Sunday looking at Daniel’s story. In response we created a lion’s head with it’s mane listing all the different places we pray and people we like to pray with.
P.S. On our Prayerful November calendar it asked us on Saturday what our favorite smell was. What is your favorite smell?
Next week Cameron Smith will lead us looking at the David and Goliath bible story. Join us at 9:30 am for our zoom Sunday School – best for kids 1-6th grades. Look for the Weekend Updates and Links for Worship and Sunday School email from Pastor!
Youth ZOOM on Sunday mornings!
For youth, grades 6-12, Meghan Kelly and Keith Miller will be leading a youth ZOOMS! Confirmation at 9:00 a.m. / High School at 9:45 a.m. If you would like to participate – please contact Meghan at mekelly10@gmail.com to receive the link.

Advent is a time to look forward, it’s the start of a new year, it’s the time when we look and wait with hope that Emmanuel will come. This year as we look forward, I’m encouraging us to also look back in history. Liturgy and practice have developed throughout the life of the church. Our liturgy, while maintaining some pieces from the worship of our ancestors has expanded. This is true of our other customs and traditions as well.
One of the traditions that has changed over the years is Advent. At one point in our history Advent was a seven week period that served much the same purpose as Lent. I’m asking that those of you who are willing to try something new, but ancient this year, to join me in a seven week Advent.
We began on Sunday November 8th. There will be a video on the website with the readings, prayer, and the lighting of candles. I will also be writing weekly reflections and there will be a recording of the O Antiphon for the week. If you have any questions please email me at graceelcaapd@gmail.com. –Angie

November 15, 2020 (24th Sunday after Pentecost, Proper 28, Year A)
“Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11
“Do or do not. There is no try,” said Star Wars character Yoda. Notice there is no “try” in Paul’s instructions either. We can act on our thankfulness to God by encouraging others and building one another up in Christ’s name. Who needs your encouragement this week? How will you act on that need?
