Lenten Retreat

“Come Follow Me” is a retreat created by Rev. Dr. Dave Bushnell to develop community in Christ and, in the process, exploring ways we can better care for our little piece of the world.
Over this difficult time we have had limited “face to face interaction”. We hope to gather in person for the chance to reconnect with our church family. This retreat could be the perfect opportunity.
The challenge? The time commitment.
The schedule for “Come Follow Me” is as follows:
Friday, March 25 from 6-9 pm which includes the evening meal.
Saturday, March 26 from 10 am-8 pm (includes lunch and dinner).
Sunday, March 27 Worship at 10:30 am, Pastor Bushnell will preach.
The weekend will conclude with a light lunch following service. I know the time commitment is a challenge, but I believe this is a worthwhile venture and I’m hoping some of you will join me. The ideal size group would be between 15-25 people. I welcome you to pray on it and if you decide to participate, please contact me at the church office (717) 397-2748 or by email at verkouw@gmail.com

Adult Sunday School Beginning the First Sunday in Lent, March 6, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

Pastor Steve will use the Lenten Sunday School hour to conduct a new and updated version of his “Discovery Class” – Surprises and Insights from Scripture, Tradition, and Lutheranism and our Ministry at Grace.
With Pastor Steve’s guidance, participants will deepen their knowledge of the Bible, the long tradition of Christian faith, our “home-turf” Lutheran Confessions, and understand how all these undergird our ministry priorities at Grace Church and in the neighborhood.
Pastor hopes that both newer folks and Grace veterans will come together for these sessions and be inspired for ministry and life together!

This Week’s Green Tip

This may sound trite in a year of challenges but smiling doesn’t just send a positive message to those around you—it also has personal benefits. Read more here

Feb. 27, 2022 (Transfiguration Sunday, Year C)
2 Corinthians 3:17 –Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. God’s path is all about freedom. Steward/disciples find that freedom when we love God with all our being and our neighbor as ourselves! Our faith aligns us with God’s abundance and power. Freedom!
