Outreach

Winter Outerwear Items For Community Meal

We are collecting winter outerwear items for our community meal. This ministry has taken many different forms over the years. This year we will be putting together bags filled with winter outerwear and winter necessities for our community meal participants.

We would like to fill the bags with hats, scarves, gloves or mittens, socks, granola bars, lotion, lip balm, and hand sanitizer. Our goal is to create 100 bags. We will also be collecting feminine hygiene products to make bags for the folks who need them.

You are now able to take a card from the giving tree which is located on the bulletin board across from the donation station in the Nolt Auditorium. All items need to be donated by Sunday, October 30. We will pack the bags the week of November 7. The bags will be distributed at Community Meal on November 16. We will need volunteers to help organize donations, pack the bags, and distribute the bags.

If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions please email Angie Rabbe at graceelcaapd@gmail.com.

Lutheran World Relief Ingathering October 1-2

We will still accept items for School and Personal Care Kits if you did not get them to church on Sunday. A box for your donations is in the Nolt Auditorium.

This Sunday there will be an envelope in the bulletins for donations to the Lutheran World Relief Shipping Fund. If you do not have an envelope, mark your donations “LWR Shipping Fund.” Thrivent Financial provided us with $500 gift cards to buy some of the supplies

World Cup of Sharing “God’s Work, Our Hands” 2022

The teams have been selected for this year‘s World Cup, and the first games will be played on November 20th.

Here at Grace plans have begun to get a jump start on that on Sunday, November 13th with our very own “World Cup of Sharing”, offering us all a special opportunity to support immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers both here in Lancaster and around the globe.

Watch for more details in the coming weeks!  If you would like to be a part of planning for this activity, please come to our next meeting on Monday, October 3rd at 10 AM in Nolt Auditorium

If that is not possible for you, but you would like to be involved, please call the church office to indicate your interest. 717-397-2748

This Week’s Green Tip

If you have too many leaves to incorporate into the compost bin, you can simply compost the pile of leaves by itself. The leaf pile should be at least four feet in diameter and three feet in height. Include a layer of dirt between each foot of leaves. Read more here

Thank You

Pastor, Kath, and everyone at Grace,
Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and cards during my surgery and this subsequent healing period.  While I cannot join you in person just yet, know I am with you in spirit.
Thanks again
