Liturgy and Music in the 21st Century Church- Where are we going

Please join Dr. David McConnell, Director of Music at 9:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for a discussion of music and liturgy in today’s church: Why we do what we do? What do we do well and what needs improvement? Can our music and liturgy be both traditional and contemporary? The issue of music in worship, especially the type and style, is an especially divisive subject – but we will set out to bridges those differing ideas into a healthy diverse whole.  This class begins November 3, 2019.

Stewardship Snippets

November 1, 2019 (Time after Pentecost—All Saints Day, Year C)
Ephesians 1:15-16–I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, and for this reason I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. Paul tells the believers in Ephesus how he remembers them with thanksgiving. Similarly, on this All Saints Day we remember our loved ones who have died, and we give thanks for their lives.

Something to Ponder from R3

Emergency! Sirens! Lights! Ambulance and police vehicles!
We see and hear them every day, always there for someone who needs help.  In our own way, we can be there to help also.  Next time you hear a siren or dee flashing lights, take a moment to pray for those involved.  You don’t need to close your eyes, just send your prayers.  It may be as simple as “Dear God, please be with those in need, protect those who offer assistance, and be with all who need your guidance. Amen.” It takes only a few seconds to offer a prayer of support for those around us in need.

Our Grace Family

Sympathy

We offer our sympathy to the family of Ruth Galebach who died on September 20, 2019, and to Donna Sowers and her family at the death of her father Donald Weaver on October 18, 2019. Please keep Donna and Ruth’s families in your prayers.
