Many thanks to the children of Grace for sharing the Good News with us on Christmas Eve, they worked very hard to make this year’s play a very special part of our celebration!

Liturgy and Music in the 21st Century Church- Where are we going
Please join Dr. David McConnell, Director of Music at 9:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for a discussion of music and liturgy in today’s church: Why we do what we do? What do we do well and what needs improvement? Can our music and liturgy be both traditional and contemporary? The issue of music in worship, especially the type and style, is an especially divisive subject – but we will set out to bridges those differing ideas into a healthy diverse whole. This class begins November 3, 2019.

LWR Ingathering Report
Thank you for the donations of items for our School and Personal Care Kits, as well as money to purchase fleece for blankets and needed supplies for our kits. We delivered 81 Personal Care Kits, 145 School Kits, 56 blankets, and 76 bars of soap. We also received $1,208 for the shipping fund of LWR. This was a wonderful outpouring of generosity. We have $526.32 left to purchase fleece, as well as the school bags and supplies for next year. Special thanks to Linda Fackler & Barbara Slotter, as well as Dianne Sherr & Nancy Hill who helped to assemble kits.
November 1, 2019 (Time after Pentecost—All Saints Day, Year C)
Ephesians 1:15-16–I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, and for this reason I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. Paul tells the believers in Ephesus how he remembers them with thanksgiving. Similarly, on this All Saints Day we remember our loved ones who have died, and we give thanks for their lives.
Something to Ponder from R3
Emergency! Sirens! Lights! Ambulance and police vehicles!
We see and hear them every day, always there for someone who needs help. In our own way, we can be there to help also. Next time you hear a siren or dee flashing lights, take a moment to pray for those involved. You don’t need to close your eyes, just send your prayers. It may be as simple as “Dear God, please be with those in need, protect those who offer assistance, and be with all who need your guidance. Amen.” It takes only a few seconds to offer a prayer of support for those around us in need.
Our Grace Family
We offer our sympathy to the family of Ruth Galebach who died on September 20, 2019, and to Donna Sowers and her family at the death of her father Donald Weaver on October 18, 2019. Please keep Donna and Ruth’s families in your prayers.
